This could receive huge backlash. Remember the stint with Anheuser Busch and them seemingly promoting binge drinking on campuses via their Facebook contest. I hear the TwitterMoms tweeting now. Ditch friends to eat unhealthy food... hmmm...

It is brilliant. Most people on Facebook have way more than 10 "friends" they could get rid of and never notice a difference, especially the college age crowd. So far most of the Twitter feedback has been positive.
I'm about to sacrifice 10 friends. We'll see how they distribute the coupon....

I agree that this is a creative and new way to utilize FB apps. My question is that most individuals are extremely afraid to delete a "friend". Just google the question "Will my friend find out if I delete them from FB?". This is one of the most posted questions on Google. This ad claims that you must choose wisely as each friend will be notified. I would love to see if this causes low utilizing of the promotion. If anyone tries this promotion I would also love to see what message the friend gets...something along the lines of You Have Been Flamed Perhaps?? Great find and I absolutely LOVE your blog! Thanks for reading! Apparently when you defriend someone, their picture burns up. Also, that person will receive a notification that they have been sacrificed for a Whopper (my friend sacrificed me, but then quickly added me back).
